The Millerville cyclist was heading south when a 29-year-old driver from Denver struck him from behind on the 2100 block around 5 p.m.
The driver was not injured.
The investigation into the events leading to the crash is in progress.
The New Danville Fire Company assisted PTPD and EMS on the scene.
"Pennsylvania law dictates that drivers of vehicles must provide at least four feet of distance between their vehicle and the bicyclist and pass at a prudent and safe speed," Pequea police said.
"Also, bicyclists must adhere to all rules of the roadway the same as a motor vehicle. This includes riding on the right side of the roadway the same direction as traffic, stopping at stop signs etc.
"As the weather finally improves more bicyclists will be on our roadways. Please drive (and pedal) responsibly and share the road."
